Wholesale pricing calculator for makers
See what a shop will pay you, what you keep on every unit, case and order, and the lowest price that still protects your margin. Free, no account, no email.
To keep 50% at wholesale, sell to shops for at least $6.98, so a retail price of at least $13.96.
Wholesale price = retail × (1 − discount). Margin = (wholesale − cost) ÷ wholesale. Lowest wholesale price = cost ÷ (1 − your lowest margin).
Below your 50% floor: Goat milk soap (43.3%).
Each product's wholesale price is its retail price minus the discount. Order margin = (order total − your cost) ÷ order total.
Before you say yes to a shop
Price retail first
If half your retail price doesn't cover your cost with room to spare, raise retail before you go wholesale.
Keep prices fair to shops
Shops won't stock you if you sell the same product cheaper online. Keep your own retail price at or above theirs.
Set a minimum order
A case size or minimum order keeps small orders worth the packing and shipping time.
Watch the low-margin items
A good order total can hide one product you barely make money on. Check each line, not just the total.

Questions makers ask
What is keystone pricing?
It's when the shop's retail price is about double what they pay you, so wholesale is roughly half of retail. It's common, not a rule.
What wholesale margin should I aim for?
There's no single right answer. Pick the lowest share of the wholesale price you're willing to keep, and the calculator shows the lowest price that protects it.
What about distributors?
Distributors usually pay less than shops do. Try a bigger discount to see if your margin can handle it.
Is it free?
Yes. It works right on this page with no account and no email address.
