Things that quietly raise your Etsy fees
Shipping counts as part of the sale
Etsy takes its fees on what you charge for shipping too, so shipping at cost still costs you a little on every order.
Small orders pay more
The 25¢ processing fee and 20¢ listing fee take a bigger bite out of a $6 bar of soap than a $40 gift set.
Offsite Ads
A sale from an Etsy ad on another site costs 12–15% more. Price so you still make money when it happens.
Packing supplies add up
Boxes, mailers and filler are real costs. Add them to what shipping really costs you.

Why doesn't my Etsy statement match exactly?
These are estimates. Etsy rounds each fee, sales tax depends on where the buyer lives, and some fees depend on your shop. Your Etsy Payment account shows your true figures.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing both include what you charge for shipping, so shipping at cost still costs you a little in fees.
I sell from outside the US. Can I use it?
Yes. Open "Etsy fees used" and type in the fees for your country from Etsy's site. Some countries also have a Regulatory Operating fee that this calculator doesn't include.
